Mythic Fire is an independent film studio and editorial platform devoted to forging modern cinema from the molten core of ancient myth. Across three feature cycles, fourteen short films, and an in-house journal of longform criticism, we resurrect forgotten gods, retell heroic cycles, and rebuild the ritual scaffolding that the old stories were always meant to be carried on.
We make these films for the cinephile tired of franchise filler and the mythology reader who knows that Beowulf is not a sword — it is a weather system. Every script on our slate passes through nine scholars on our Mythological Research Council before a single frame is shot. That is why the work feels different, and that is why it lasts past the closing credit.

Every project on our slate — feature or short — passes through a panel of nine working scholars in comparative mythology, classical reception, and ritual performance before it ever reaches the set.
Council members trace the script's source-text lineage — every variant edition, oral tradition, and adjacent folklore — and produce a 40-page source audit before greenlight. No script moves forward without it.
Sacred objects, ceremonial sequences, and initiatory language are reviewed for cultural accuracy and consent. When a script calls for a closed practice, we commission an external cultural consultant before a single prop is built.
One council member is assigned as the script's challenger — tasked with finding the lazy trope, the borrowed cliché, the unearned miracle. Their dissent is published alongside the film in our journal.
We did not inherit these stories to display them behind glass. We inherited them to be carried — by a new century, in a new voice, with fire still in the breath.
Our films have toured the festival circuit since 2018. We list the rooms that mattered, in restrained editorial type — not laurel wreaths.
